Every time we talk about black slate, our mind goes straight back to school.

the terror of being asked!
Seriously, in reality slate is not only found in school classes but it is a stone
widely used and appreciated in the construction world, especially for its excellent qualities, such as:
The slate is a metamorphic stone, belonging to the phyllite family and originally from the Tigullio area, which is
loved for its typical black-gray color and perfectly embraces contemporary taste.
Being a compact and elastic stone, soft, semi-hard, it lends itself well to any type of processing.
It is used for coatings, cover material, architectural finishes, window sills, bathroom and kitchen tops, shower trays, tables and much more.
As regards the coatings, despite its resistance, being a natural material it is very subject to scratches and severe abrasions.
For this reason, when we decide to pave our house with slate, we must also know very well how to treat it, in order to avoid damaging it. This is why it is essential to know how to clean black slate, both before and after installation, in the right way.
Slate coatings: cleaning
Slate is also suitable for external coatings because it is very resistant but, nevertheless,
since it is a natural material, it can deeply stain.
When it is damaged and worn out by atmospheric agents that have altered its consistency and the typical gray-anthracite color, it is essential, if we wish to restore this material to its elegant and much loved natural color,
we have to know how to clean black slate: which are the precise methods and how to intervene to renew its beauty.
In case of stains caused by acidic substances, such as atmospheric rain, limestone,
horrible white spots form on the stone. For this eventuality, to recover the surface, we recommend you to apply a specific and professional product such as SGRISER, a wax remover for the removal of old oil and / or wax treatments from stone materials in cotto, stone, concrete and grit. it deeply cleans and degreases surfaces soiled with oils, greases and biological encrustations.
By applying the product with BUFFER or RED DISC we will be able to rub more vigorously
the entire floor and to open the pores well for a complete cleaning.
Once the degreasing cleaning is finished, with a clean,
dry and degreased surface, it is necessary to apply BRIGHTSTONE NERO: an anti-stain primer for the color correction of black slates, whitened by acid solutions or by degradation due to atmospheric agents and limestone encrustations. BRIGHTSTONE NERO ensures a protective and perfect treatment to make the stone shine and to preserve and renew the brilliance and the natural beauty of the stone.
This product is very easy to apply, it can be massaged until the material is saturated, such as the application of waxes.
As for the ordinary cleaning, slate can be washed with UNIPUL, a concentrated detergent for multifunctional use according to its concentration in water, ideal for an intensive degreasing cleaning on all hard surfaces.
In addition to ordinary solutions, to maintain and renew its brilliance and to bring it back to its natural beauty, it is necessary to intervene with an extraordinary maintenance treatment: let’s remember, therefore, to apply BRIGHTSTONE BLACK once or twice a year.
