Slippery- floor

When you decide to renovate or build a house, the choice of coverings influences more than others.
The chosen tiles will accompany you throughout your life and deciding is always a bit complicated.
Choosing the right materials is not easy and sometimes “mistakes” are just around the corner.
It seems absurd but until you “live” them daily, houses can always give you small unpleasant surprises and
unforeseeable inconveniences, such as a slippery floor.
Fortunately, however, we can always fix it.

How slippery can porcelain stoneware be?

Porcelain stoneware is a beloved, resistant, versatile material.
Son of the 90s, it was immediately very much appreciated by the world of interior design.
The reasons for the rapid and continuous expansion of porcelain stoneware are different.
First of all, the great resistance to atmospheric agents and thermal shocks, but also to dirt and trampling should be mentioned.
Furthermore, it is easy to wash and also resistant to stains, precisely because it is treated on the surface with specific products.
Present in an infinite variety of finishes, it adapts perfectly to any environment.
For those who always want a shiny surface, the most suitable finish is certainly the glossy one.
The effect is wonderful: this floor gives off a light in which everyone can mirror.
The glossy porcelain stoneware is reminiscent of a mirror and all the features of the mirror.
One among many is slipperiness: a technical feature of the flooring that should never be underestimated.

Sometimes, depending on the type and the polishing treatments, porcelain stoneware can be even too slippery.
But fortunately, with the help of the right products, even this small inconvenience has found the right remedy.
Let’s find out it right away together.

How to transform a slippery floor into a non-slip floor?

Falls and slips are very frequent on “too shiny” floors.
In fact, the type of flooring is one of the main causes of these dangerous accidents.
A distraction, a misstep, a badly worn shoe and a not very “stable” surface are enough to cause irreparable damage.

Therefore, if a correct assessment has not been made during the design phase on a dangerous slippery floor,
it is absolutely necessary to intervene to remedy with the help of professionals and specific treatments.

So, if until now we have always seen how to perfectly clean porcelain stoneware,
today we want to show you how to make this floor non-slippery.

Let us remember that this is a professional treatment, so it should be done by experts in the sector.

First you need to perfectly clean the surface; in order to do this we can use a detergent that acts in depth as SGRISER: an alkaline product / solvent for a strong degreasing dewaxer washing on all stone materials.

Strong dewaxing detergent for stone materials.

For best results we recommend you to rub the surface with RED BUFFER.

Once washing is finished, it is advisable to rinse the entire surface with clean water and let it dry.

When it is perfectly dry, you pass, one meter at a time, GRIPPER: an aqueous solution of inorganic salts
for the anti-slip treatment of all materials containing silicates: granite, porcelain stoneware, glazed ceramic, etc.

Anti-slip treatment for floors.

This formidable product reacts and attacks the silica part of these materials, creating a microporosity that increases the coefficient of friction, and the slipperiness of the wet surface is drastically reduced.
GRIPPER, easy and quick to apply, is an invisible and immediately effective solution.
Suitable for both internal and external surfaces, if required it can be certified by third parties (court experts),
in order to obtain an anti-slip certification that safeguards and certifies the safety of the flooring, especially in public environments.

We remind you that in the event that the processing is to be carried out in public environments and condominiums,
by the intervention of our certified technicians , it will be possible to obtain the anti-slip floor certification.
